His eye is on the sparrow

Like a bird on a branch,
if that branch should crack and break,
the bird will fly.
It does not rely on the branch.

If that bird should have pain in its wing,
it shall be hidden in me.
I shall carry it safely home,
where I will care for it.
I’ll rescue it until it’s strong and bold.

Then one day that bird will fly again.
Forever rested in the knowledge that I’m always it’s friend.
I shall soon swoop to catch it if it turns the wrong way.
If it listens to my voice and song, it will never be led astray.

The bird is safe.
My eye is on the sparrow.
You, sons and daughters,
you are safe.
